It reveals the intriguing thoughts of a Mursi woman from Southern Ethiopia and that of a Dutch tourist as they prepare themselves for meeting each other. This ultimately results in an awkward encounter that is both moving and disturbing.
Recently, the Mursi people have undergone a process of âtouristificationâ, mainly because of the exotic physical appearance of the women with their large lip plates. While the tourists treat the Mursi people as curiosities to be photographed, the Mursi in turn deal with the influx of the âOtherâ in their own particular way.
