PARGA
Click on image to watch full video. Parga is a 3:30 minute long documentary which gives insight into how the people of Konso in southern Ethiopia still practice the ancient skill of cultivating their crops on terraces which are dug out of soil on the hillsides. Parga means terracing in the Konso language. This quirky and entertaining short film, which was directed by Tesfaye Semegne, also reveals how a modern eco-lodge has adapted these practices as part of its attempt to woo tourists to the region.
